| Prerequisites: | CLINICAL AND LABORATORY DIAGNOSTICS I (important: CLINICAL AND LABORATORY DIAGNOSTICS II can be included in the Learning Agreement only togehter with CLINICAL AND LABORATORY DIAGNOSTICS I) The student should have finished the following basic subjects: animal anatomy, biochemistry, histology and embryology, veterinary microbiology, veterinary immunology, animal feeding and feedstuffs, animal physiology. |

| Short description: | The goal of the course is to gain the skill of the full clinical examination of the large and small animals including the general clinical assessment as far as specific systems examination. The students are though how to perform all the procedures needed for the clinical assessment and finding the right choice of the additional and specialistic diagnostic methods and procedures. |
| Full description: | The clinical and laboratory methods and ways of the husbandry and companion animals examination and assessment. The procedures used for the clinical animals assessment. History, signalment, body built, condition, constitution and animals behaviour. The measurement of the basic homeostatic parameters. The examinations of the specific systems and organs. |

| Learning outcomes: | Knowledge: - the student knows the basic definitions of clinical diagnostics such as health, disease, condition, constitutionan interview, status present - he knows the rules for performing the diagnostic examination by deductive, inductive and differential methods - describes, explains and interprets the causes and symptoms of clinical - performs clinical examination of the patient and monitors the health status of animals in farms and households - gets properly samples for laboratory and additional tests - analyzes and correctly interpret the clinical data, laboratory test results, and results of other laboratory tests Skills: - the student after completing the course will have the ability to safe handling of animals. - he can perform a diagnosis by means of an interview, make a description of the animal, determine the type of constitutional and condition of the animal - has the ability to examine particular organs and systems of the various species of domestic animals - has the ability to describe the clinical symptoms and assess their significance Social competences: - student interviews with the owner of the animal to get the necessary information to allow for diagnose the disease - students organize the work of helping persons during the study in a manner that protects them for himself, for the animal (s) and at the same time allowing for the clinical examination - student directs an animal or samples taken for laboratory tests in no uncertain terms |
